Salford will be sharing some of the research being conducted at the centre and believe that it will generate an interesting discussion on simulation modelling in disaster management and associated public policy. Salford are also hoping to form a working group on this topic in the future and welcome your participation. Policy Council members from the UK Chapter of the System Dynamics Society will be present to answer your questions at this event.

Event Objectives:

  • To provide an interdisciplinary opportunity for discussing the application of System Dynamics to a significant challenge facing our cities;
  •  To provide a networking opportunity for those in Manchester, and wider afield, with an interest in System Dynamics
  • To provide an opportunity for people to find out more about System Dynamics and its Applications.

Outline program (tentative):

1:30pm    Lunch available  (First networking opportunity)

2:00pm   Context setting – Resilience Frameworks and Capacities used in EU CIRCLE framework

2:15pm    Challenges of the new EPSRC project – Developing World Context

2:30pm  Case Study

3:00pm   Round table discussions – making connections

3:30pm   Facilitated plenary to capture system insights

3:55pm   Concluding remarks

4-5:00pm    Retire for refreshments and networking

Admission is free, but you must register (on Eventbrite, see below) so that we know how many people to expect; and please remember to de-register should your plans change.

This event is for members of the SD society and anyone else interested in system dynamics.
